Lamp-lit pillared temple hall with hanging brass bells

Chamber I

The Sangeetha Sanctum

Sayeesham — Home of Indian Music & Arts. Founded in 2023 in Freising, the only dedicated Indian Carnatic classical music school in Germany, and one of very few in all of Europe.

The hanging bells

Hear the octave

Strike a bell — each one holds a swara of the Carnatic octave.

What we teach

Guru-shishya parampara

Knowledge flowing directly from teacher to student, heart to heart — the way music has always been taught in India.

All ages, from 4 years

Carnatic Classical Vocal

The foundation of everything we do. Swaras, Alankaras, Varnams, Krithis and Bhajans — systematically, joyfully, and with deep respect for tradition.

Alongside vocal study

Carnatic Rhythm — Tala Training

Adi, Rupaka, Misra Chapu and the other Talas — the mathematical heartbeat of Carnatic music.

Beginners welcome

Carnatic Music for Adults

It is never too late to begin. Patient, structured and deeply rewarding. Music in adulthood is not just a skill. It is healing, identity and joy.

Starting November 2026

Bhajan Classes

Devotional singing in the tradition of India's great saint-composers. No prior music experience needed. Music as prayer. Music as surrender.

Starting November 2026

Abhang Classes

The devotional poetry of Maharashtra's saint tradition — Tukaram, Namdev, Eknath — bringing North and South Indian devotion under one roof.

Starting October 2026

New Batches

Fresh batches open for beginners and intermediate students, online and in person. Early registration recommended.

The Namasankeerthanam Band

A congregation of adult learners united by a 3,500-year-old tradition of singing together — rooted in the Vedic age, when communities gathered to sing, to connect and to celebrate through the human voice in unison.

It is not performance. It is participation. It is not concert. It is community.

The Sayeesham Ensemble

Our chamber group of adult learners on Mridangam, Tabla, Dholak, Violin, Flute, Veena and Harmonium — bringing to life Javalis, Padams, Tillanas and Kirtanas that are 500 to 1,000 years old.

These are not museum pieces. They are living, breathing music.

Who can join?

From tiny fingers learning their first swara to seasoned hearts rediscovering their roots — everyone above 4 years has a home at Sayeesham. Join us if you are 4 or 94. Indian families, German music lovers, spiritual seekers — all are welcome.
