The lineage

Where tradition breathes

Founded in 2023 in Freising, Sayeesham is the only dedicated Indian Carnatic classical music school in Germany — and one of very few in all of Europe. The name is an offering at the lotus feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Sairanjani Sivaramakrishnan

Founder & Teacher

A devoted practitioner of Carnatic music, Sairanjani has dedicated her life to preserving and propagating this sacred art form far from the shores of India.

Her musical journey is rooted in the blessings of her Guru, the late Kalaimamani Smt. Sulochana Pattabhiraman — an eminent Carnatic vocalist and musicologist whose depth of understanding shaped generations of musicians across India.

She also had the rare blessing of learning Varnams and Thillanas from the legendary late Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman, whose signature Lalgudi Bani brought lyrical phrasing, emotive depth and structural clarity to the violin. To have learned from such a master is a blessing she carries humbly into every lesson.

Swethaa Sundar

Carnatic Vocalist & Teacher

Swethaa Sundar is a trained Carnatic vocalist with over 15 years of experience in the art form. She has trained under renowned gurus Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Smt. Bharath Mahadevan, and Smt. Sairanjani Sivaramakrishnan, developing a strong foundation in traditional Carnatic music technique and repertoire.

Swethaa Sundar is now joining hands with Smt. Sairanjani Sivaramakrishnan at Sayeesham — Home of Indian Music & Arts to teach Carnatic music to kids and beginners, offering a nurturing and joyful introduction to this classical art form.

Vasanth Ravi

Audio Manager & Sound Engineer

I'm a music enthusiast whose journey began with learning Carnatic vocal music. Along the way I taught myself Western percussion and rhythm, which grew into a deep curiosity about sound itself: how it's captured, shaped and felt by the listener.

Today I work independently as a music producer, rhythm programmer and sound engineer. I learned sound mixing and mastering on my own, and I handle live sound for concerts while producing my own music at MRVK Studios, my home studio near Munich. As a techie at heart, I also enjoy building technology solutions for music, bringing modern tools and tradition together.

For me, Nama Sankirtana is where all of this finds its truest purpose. My wish is that every voice, every beat and every name of the Divine reaches each listener with clarity and warmth, so that the sound disappears and only the bhakti remains.

The gift of performance

Every time a child of Sayeesham steps on a German stage and sings a Carnatic composition written 800 years ago, something extraordinary happens. They do not just perform music — they carry a civilisation. They stand tall in a foreign land, rooted in something ancient and unshakeable. That is the true purpose of music education: not just to teach notes, but to build human beings.

Why exposure matters

India's greatest musicians were not made in practice rooms alone. They were made on stages — absorbing other musicians, feeling audiences, learning to hold a note under pressure. Sayeesham brings this culture of exposure to Europe.

Our mission

To keep the flame of India's classical music heritage burning bright in the heart of Europe — one student, one raga, one beat at a time.
